The MacPhail Center for Music — Austin is now open for fall enrollment.

Classes are offered covering 13 instruments along with vocal. MacPhail, along with offering lessons and classes for the community, is working with Austin Public Schools, Pacelli Catholic Schools, The Community Learning Center, Woodson Kindergarten Center and Apple Lane Childcare to provide musical enrichment programs.

There are also Sing, Play Learn! With MacPhail Musical Families offerings.

•Fall Musical Families

Good family opportunities including introducing children to gain exposure to melody, rhythm and a variety of musical instruments. Classes include singing, movement, instrument exploration, children’s literature and hands-on creative play. Ages: 0-5 (register as a family-older siblings welcome.

Times: 4:45 to 5:30 p.m. or 5:45 to 6:30 p.m. Thursdays for eight weeks beginning Sept. 9 (no class on Oct. 19).

Location: Hormel Historic Home

Tuition: $50 per family.

•Fall Musical Make-Believe

Use your imagination with participants engaging in creative dramatics, movement, stories, visual arts and musical discovery while building school readiness skills. Register through the Community Learning Center at 1-507-460-1706 or online at www.austin.k12.mn.us/clc.

Ages: 3-5 with caregiver.

Times: 10:45 to 11:30 a.m. Thursdays for eight weeks beginning Sept. 14, no class on Oct. 19.

Location: Riverland East Building, Room C130

Tuition: $50 for the first child; $5 each additional child.
