Interstate 90 ramp closing Sept. 5; Crews constructing intersections for 11th Drive Northeast bridge

The Minnesota Department of Transportation announced the Exit 179 ramps on Interstate 90 will close Sept. 5.
“The closures at Exit 179 are necessary for construction crews to build the intersections that connect the 11th Drive Northeast bridge with the ramps,” MnDOT Public Affairs Coordinator Mike Dougherty said in a news release.
The westbound off-ramp will remain open. Motorists will be able to exit westbound Interstate 90 at 11th Drive Northeast, but will need to follow detour signs to return to Interstate 90. Eastbound motorists will be directed to ramps for the detour on that side of the bridge.
The closure is expected to last three weeks. Work on the bridge is expected to be completed on Oct. 2.
