Brian Birkhofer of Muscatine, Iowa jumped from the outside pole spot to take the lead on the first green of Wednesday night’s Featherlite Gopher 50 and didn’t look back to take the checkered flag of the 29th annual Deer Creek Speedway event featuring the World of Outlaws Late Models series.

Birkhofer finished ahead of current World of Outlaws points leader Darrell Lanigan of Union, Ky. and Clint Smith of Senoia, Ga to round out the top three.
