The Southeastern Minnesota Area Agency on Aging (SEMAAA) has announced it will be taking grant applications from non-profit and, in some cases, for-profit organizations for federal Older American Act funds for 2018. The funds are for social service projects that serve people 60 years of age or older in the 11 counties of Southeastern Minnesota. There are approximately $366,000 available in Title III-B funds. These funds are intended for programs and services for frail, older individuals, such access services, chores, assisted transportation, information assistance and legal assistance.

There are approximately $217,000 available in Title III-E funds. These funds are intended for programs that assist caregivers, such as caregiver access assistance, volunteer caregiver support services and evidence-based caregiver education. Applications and information can be obtained by visiting SEMAAA at 2720 Superior Dr. NW, Suite 102, Rochester, MN 55901, calling KimVoth at 507-288-6944 or emailing a request to kim@semaaarochestermn.org.

Applications are due to SEMAAA by Oct. 20.
