Letter: Mower County Humane Society thankful for support
Published 10:15 am Sunday, September 17, 2017
The Mower County Humane Society would like to thank all who participated in our 21st annual Walk for Animals. This year’s event raised a record-breaking $23,250 — about $10,000 more than last year! All of the money raised at this event for MCHS, an all-volunteer group, will go to the rescue of abandoned pets in Mower County. Special thanks to Hy-Vee, Hormel, The Muffler Center, Cinemagic 7, Sheila Fretty, Old 218, Double K Specialty, Austin Vet Clinic, Austin Park and Rec, Austin Daily Herald, KAUS Radio, KIMT TV, KAAL TV, and the Austin Public Library for sponsoring and helping promote this event. Special thanks to Officer Derek Ellis and Police Dog Rudy for leading the walkers and doing a demonstration featuring Rudy’s top-notch skills!
MCHS is sponsoring one more spay/neuter event this year on Friday, Nov 10, 2017. If you have a dog or cat that is not spayed/neutered, please sign up at MNSNAP.org. HELP US eliminate unwanted pets in our community!
