A Lyle man accused of slamming a woman against the wall by her throat after she told him she didn’t want to talk about their strained relationship because he was drunk, was sentenced to a year of probation as part of a plea bargain with the Mower County Attorney’s Office.
Josh Charles Krull, 52, agreed on July 14 to plead guilty to misdemeanor domestic assault and fourth-degree driving while intoxicated. A count of felony domestic assault by strangulation has been dismissed.
District Court Judge Jeffrey Kritzer sentenced Krull to a year of probation for both misdemeanors, and included conditions such as completing and following the recommendations of a chemical assessment, attending a Mothers Against Drunk Driving Impact Panel, and completing a Driving with Care program. He can’t threaten violence, assault, drive, drink alcohol, or have contact with his victim and must submit to random chemical testing.
