ST. PAUL – Gov. Mark Dayton has proclaimed today, Oct. 25, as “Wellstone Remembrance Day” in Minnesota, honoring the late U.S. Sen. Paul Wellstone 15 years after he was killed in a plane crash, along with his wife, Sheila, his daughter, Marcia, three close friends and aides and two pilots.
Dayton called Wellstone an extraordinary political leader.
“In today’s divisive political climate, let us remember his conviction, as well as his civility, in working tirelessly for the betterment of others,” Dayton said.
