An Austin man convicted of stalking in 2014 is facing a new set of felony charges after allegedly accessing a woman’s social media and posting private information from it.

Joshua James Allen, 30, is charged with two felonies. Violating a no contact order within 10 years of previous convictions and violating a domestic abuse order of protection each carry a maximum sentence of 5 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

According to Austin police, the woman said Allen accessed her Facebook and email accounts after she had changed her passwords. He used security questions to get in, she said.

At one point, he learned from her private information that she was taking a class on carrying a concealed gun and posted about it on Facebook.  She presented police a screen shot of his post that said: “I love the lies, nothing like a false sense of fear you have. Someone seems a little paranoid and unstable and it defiantly  is not me. Careful with the conceal an carry you might hurt yourself being your so messed up in the head right now.” (sic)

She told police his behavior is escalating

Police officers went to Allen’s home at about 1 p.m. Oct. 24 and asked him about the comment and accessing her accounts. He admitted posting a Facebook comment, but denied accessing her accounts.

His criminal history includes convictions for  third-degree assault and stalking in 2014.
