Kristina Thorson is a senior swimmer on the Austin girls swimming and diving team. The Packers will compete in the Section 1A meet in Rochester Wednesday and Thursday.
Q: What sports do you compete in?
A: Swimming and golf.
Q: How did you originally get into swimming?
A: I first started swimming on the Y swim team when I was six.
Q: What’s your favorite sports memory?
A: Dropping 30 seconds on my 500 freestyle between two meets.
Q: What have you learned from sports?
A: Success only comes with hard work and determination.
Q: What is the hardest part about swimming?
A: Coming back from the off season and holding technique.
Q: Who is your biggest sports role model and why?
A: Katie Ledecky. She went to the Olympics at age 15 and she has broken many world records.
Q: What is your favorite movie or TV show?
A: Pretty Little Liars.
Q: What is your favorite subject in school?
A: Math.
Q: What is your dream job?
A: Accountant.
Q: What is your favorite food?
A: Chicken tenders.
Q: What are your plans after high school?
A: Attend a 4-year college for business.
Q: What’s a fun fact about you or hobby you enjoy most people don’t know about?
A: I’m left-handed.
