Jacob Richard Greenback, 22, of Austin, pleaded not guilty to felony terroristic threats, gross misdemeanor domestic assault, gross misdemeanor fifth-degree assault, and misdemeanor fourth-degree criminal damage to property on Monday in Mower County District Court. He was charged on Oct. 24.

According to the court complaint, police were dispatched at 6:15 p.m. on Oct. 22 to a domestic disturbance in the 600 block of Fifth Street Northwest. They were told the suspect, Greenback, had left the residence and located him about a block south.

He told police he had nothing to say to them and they should go speak with a woman at the residence. The officers noticed he seemed very hostile and chose to detain him and take him back to the residence.

The officers made contact with the woman, who said she and Greenback had been arguing, according to the complaint. She said when she entered her vehicle, he almost slammed the door on her leg. He then punched the trunk, causing a small dent.

They continued to argue, at which point he threatened to break the window and kill her.

The complaint states an officer heard Greenback threaten to kill the woman while she spoke to the police.

In Minnesota, felony terroristic threats carry a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

Greenback’s pre-trial is scheduled for Feb. 9.
