Requests to renew operating levies in Blooming Prairie and Grand Meadow school districts were approved by voters during Tuesday’s school elections.

In Blooming Prairie, the renewal of the levy was passed 393-206, and two additional questions, which asked voters to raise funds for technology (364-234) and smaller class sizes (363-234) also passed.

All three incumbent school board members — Rodney Krell (477 votes) Kelly Braaten (490) and Pam Hameister (478) — were elected to new, four-year terms, as well as new candidate, Dean Meshke (473). All  were unopposed.

Grand Meadow voters also passed the school district’s request for a 10-year renewal of its operating levy, with 84 percent approving passage, 195-37.

Shavon Eastlee was also elected to the Grand Meadow School Board with 212 votes. She was not opposed in the election.

Wanda King was elected to the board in Lyle, taking 32 votes. King was appointed to fill a vacancy; in order to stay on the board, she needed to be elected and will now serve a two-year term.
