Dryer destroyed in fire at laundromat

Nobody was hurt in a fire that started in a dryer at a laundromat on Saturday.
According to Austin Police Chief Brian Krueger, officers responded to a fire call at 4:52 p.m. at a laundromat in the 1000 block of First Avenue Southwest. Police evacuated it and an adjacent building. The fire started in a dryer on the west side of the building. The dryer and the clothes in it were destroyed. The Austin Fire Department ventilated the building.
