Support The Arc Mower County on #GivingTuesday, this coming ​Tuesday.

#GivingTuesday is a global giving movement that has been built by individuals, families, organizations, businesses and communities in all 50 states and in countries around the world. Millions of people have come together to support and champion the causes they believe in and the communities in which they live.

We have two days for getting deals — Black Friday and Cyber Monday.  On #GivingTuesday, we have a day for giving back. Together, people are creating a new ritual for our annual calendar.  #GivingTuesday is the opening day of the giving season: a reminder of the “reason for the season.”

Every act of generosity counts and each means even more when we give together.  #GivingTuesday includes people of all ethnicities, religions and backgrounds. Together, millions of people demonstrate our common capacity to give.

​#GivingTuesday is a celebration of America’s greatest traditions: generosity, entrepreneurialism, community.  Everyone has something to give.

• All-You-Can-Eat Chicken Dumpling Soup and Chili Supper: 4-7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 5 at the Mower County Senior Center, 400 3rd Ave NE, Austin, MN. Tickets: In advance — $7 for adults and $5 for children (ages 4 to 10).

At The Door — Tickets are $9 for adults and $7 for children (Ages 4 to 10). Children ages 3 and under are free. Tickets go on sale beginning Monday, Nov. 27. Meal includes chicken dumpling soup and/or chili, beverage and dessert. ​Call The Arc at 1-507-433-8994 to purchase tickets or to volunteer. Take-outs are available. Every donation, large or small, will help cut expenses and increase profits:  We need

boneless chicken, hamburger, carrots, celery and financial donations to purchase other items. Call The Arc today and let us know how you can help.

•Respect T-shirts are now available to purchase: ​A percentage from each shirt will help support Mower County Special Olympics athletes who participate in basketball, bowling, softball, tennis and volleyball.

Sizes available (cash only) — Adult: small ($10), medium ($10), large ($10), extra large ($10), double extra large ($13), triple extra large ($14) and quadruple large ($15). Youth: extra small ($10), small ($10), medium ($10), large ($10) and exgtra large ($10)

Order deadline: Feb. 1, 2018. Shirts will ship one week from deadline.

To order: Stop into The Arc office during business hours. Shirts will not be ordered until payment has been received.
