The Austin boys hockey team lost its season opener to Albert Lea (1-0 overall, 1-0 Big Nine) by a score of 5-1 in Riverside Arena Tuesday.

The Packers (0-1 overall, 0-1 Big Nine) were tied 1-1 after the first period, but the Tigers scored two goals in the second and two goals in the third to put it away.
Dylan Svoboda had the lone goal for Austin.
