Nelson steps up as LP girls down Cardinals

Lyle-Pacelli junior Lucy Nelson put together a complete effort as the Athletics girls basketball team beat LeRoy-Ostrander (0-8 overall, 0-5 SEC) by a score of 76-23 in LeRoy Thursday.
Nelson, who is 11 months removed from an ACL injury, had a career-high 12 points as she went 5-for-8 from the field, while tallying seven rebounds and four assists.
“I’m really proud of Lucy Nelson,” LP head coach Justin Morris said. “She’s playing very good basketball and she’s worked hard to get back. You can tell she’s starting to turn the corner. She was our best player tonight, she brought fantastic energy.”
Kristi Fett added 24 points for LP (8-1 overall, 4-0 SEC).
