Deconstruction of the former Austin Utilities Municipal Power Plant in downtown Austin continues as crews focus on peeling away the siding on the structure atop the building that formerly held the utility’s iconic lighted sign.
Landwehr Construction of of St. Cloud won the demolition contract in December with a bid of $2,487,640. The new Austin Community Recreation Center will be constructed on the site after the demolition.
