If you have been following all the news media recently, you can only begin feeling hyped about our great state of Minnesota.

That of course includes the newest attraction in our area, US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.

We are feeling the same with our travelers and their ideas. With that said, our first trip will be to tour the stadium with a personal guide where we will seek out everything including the lockers.

Coffee party

Save the date on Feb. 21 for our annual coffee party and travel show, held in Austin’s Mower County Senior Center at 400 Third Ave NW.

This is open to the public, from 9 a.m. to noon. There will be lots of goodies and a bottomless cup of hot coffee.

Our travel calendar will then be available, along with a schedule of outings planned for the upcoming year. You will be able to sign up for the trips you are interested in.

Trips do fill quickly, as our limited travel usually is from April through December. All ages are invited to join us on our travels. We hope we have peaked some of your interests as we make it as easy as we can with your suggestions in mind.

We have included some favorite destinations along with lots of new ones including “Jersey Boys” on April 26 at the Orpheum theater in Minneapolis. The show is among the list of the first Broadway shows booked. This show has been one the best shows I’ve ever seen and is a favorite of the many travelers.

Travel office

The travel office at the senior center is not open during this time prior to the open house, but will return to regular hours after February.

We are looking forward to the sun soon, so if you follow the prediction of Punxsutawney Phil we can expect more winter. We know that winter is beautiful, but we look forward to another great season after we dig out.
