Joseph G. Lammers, 97

Joseph G. Lammers, 97, of Adams, Minnesota, died Monday, Feb. 26, 2018, at the Adams Health Care Center with his family at his side.

Joseph Gerald Lammers was born April 25, 1920, in Fulda, Minnesota, the son of Theodore and Katherine (Hollis) Lammers. He graduated from the Rose Creek Catholic School and attended High School in Adams. Joe served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1946. He was married to Florence Weber on Sept. 7, 1944, in Stacyville, Iowa.

The Lammers farmed in the Johnsburg, Minnesota, area until their retirement, when they moved to Adams. Joe was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Catholic Order of Foresters and Adams American Legion Post 146. Joe enjoyed baking cookies, spending time with his family and going to Bubbles Cafe.

Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Florence; son-in-law, David Wilberding; granddaughter, Michelle Sands; brothers, Brother Felix, John, Frank and Bernard; sisters, Anne Meyer and Agnes Weber; and brothers-in-law, Elmer, Walter and Jerome Weber.

Joe is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Mary Lammers, Adams; daughter, Kathleen Wilberding, Adams; grandchildren, Elizabeth Lammers, Minneapolis, Minnesota, Peter (Jen) Lammers, Platteville, Wisconsin, Kathryn (Brandon) Huxhold, Montgomery, Illinois, Steven (Ashley) Lammers, Hutchinson, Minnesota, Amy (Don) Becker, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Matthew (Melissa) Wilberding, Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, Tamara (Patrick) Frank, Farmington, Minnesota, Jacob (Ashley) Wilberding, Stacyville, and Jessica (Aaron) Wagner, Rose Creek, Minnesota; grandson-in-law, Aaron (Michelle) Sands; great-grandchildren, Mariah and Douglas Sands, Anya and Xander Huxhold, Patrick and Henry Lammers, David and D J Becker, Maddy, Michael and Maci Wilberding, Jonah, Emma, Jason and Caleb Frank, McKenzie and Aiden Wilberding, and Chloe and Joey Wagner; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Lammers, Dorothy Weber, and Caroline Weber; nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 3, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Swaminatha Pothireddy officiating. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery with Adams American Legion Post in charge of military honors. Visitation will be at the Adams Funeral Home on Friday from 4-8 p.m. with a rosary at 4 p.m. and a sharing of memories by family and friends at 7:30 p.m. and at 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
