According to the court complaint, an Austin police detective met with a man on Feb. 21. The man said a 22-year-old man, later identified as Morales, had solicited his 14-year-old daughter for sex. He had viewed a conversation on her Facebook account between her and a man identifying himself as “Perico Mor Less” in which Morales allegedly said he would buy her a vaping device in exchange for sex. Despite the victim informing him of her age, he still allegedly solicited her for sex.

The detective viewed other messages, sent over the course of three days, in which Morales invited the victim to engage in sex or a sexual activity, according to the complaint. In one message, he allegedly invited the victim to come to his residence in the 700 block of Fourth Avenue Southwest. The victim frequently reminded Morales of her age.

Morales was arrested on Feb. 27 and his cell phone was seized, according to the report. He was intoxicated, claiming someone had “hacked” his Facebook account and that he did not know, nor did he solicit, the victim. A review of Morales Facebook account allegedly showed that he and the victim were “friends.” A voice message left on the victim’s phone was allegedly recognized by the detective as Morales’ voice.

A review of Morales’ criminal history shows prior convictions for theft and drug possession.

Morales will appear in court again on March 15.
