Dion Edward Wadley, 46, of Austin was sentenced to 51 months in the Minnesota Correctional Facility in St. Cloud for felony third-degree sales of a narcotic on Friday in Mower County District Court. He received credit for 346 days served.
He received another sentence, to be served concurrently, of 46 months on another count of felony third-degree sales of a narcotic.
Judge Kevin Siefken issued the sentences.
Three charges of felony second-degree sales of heroin in a school zone and another charge of felony third-degree sales of a narcotic were dismissed at the sentencing as part of a plea agreement.
Wadley was arrested on March 21 at his residence in the 1800 block of East Oakland Avenue during a police search warrant. Staff of nearby Neveln Elementary School was notified of the search warrant to ensure the safety of the students.
Prior to his arrest, Wadley sold heroin to a police informant three times over the course of two months. He sold a total of 2.1 grams of heroin to the informant.
A review of Wadley’s criminal record shows prior convictions for theft, terroristic threats, assault and harassment.
