Mower County Senior Travel
Maybe our last snowfall has come and gone. We are now anxious to get on the road and start traveling a bit. Trips have been planned with your ideas and new destinations planned. This is listing of travel planned for 2018.
Trips at a glance
•April 17: US Bank Stadium tour and “Fly Across America tour.”
•April 25: Second booked “Jersey Boys” at the Orpheum Theater in Minneapolis.
•April 26: “Jersey Boys” at the Orpheum Theater in Minneapolis.
•May 8: Second trip to the “US Stadium Tour” & “Fly Across America.”
•May 20: “National Czech Celebration,” Cedars Rapids, Iowa.
•May 23: 3 p.m. Meeting for those signed for the “Fall Riverboat on the Blue Danube.”
•June 6: Botanical Gardens and DayTrippers Theater in Minneapolis, “Drinking Habits.”
•June 18: “Carousels and Horses” collections of musical (over 450) carousels, along with a horse training show. (2017 Mystery Trip).
•July 12: “Beauty and the Beast” Marion Ross Theater in Albert Lea; includes another Mystery Meal prior.
•July 25: Disney’s production of “Newsies,” Chanhassen Dinner Theatre.
•Aug. 27: “Minnesota State Fair Day.”
August will also be month of our annual Mystery Trip. (Still a mystery, but we will have data on this later).
•Sept. 15-22: “Blue Danube River Boat Cruise” (Europe).
•Oct. 7: View the new expansion on the St Croix Riverboat Cruise with a “Jazz Me on the Water” music entertainment.
•Nov. 27-30: “Branson Christmas” with five great shows and more.
This is our schedule to date. Others may be added, These are open to all ages and you do not need to be a member of the Senior Center, However, perks with a Mower County Senior Center membership and a monthly newsletter to your home.
Regular hours are now resumed at the Mower County Senior Center, 400 Third Ave. NW, Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, 9:30 a.m. – noon. Our travel numbers are 507-438-3946 and 507-433-9391. after hours also. The mailing address is 1002 16th St SW Austin, MN 55912.
Our annual coffee party/travel show was held last month with a calendar of events scheduled plus sign-ups. The drawing winners were, Elaine Delhanty, Joyce Jones, and Gladys Hertle.
