Five arrested after report of fight, shots fired

No injuries were reported after a call of a fight that led to shots allegedly being fired on Sunday morning.
According to Austin Police Chief Brian Krueger, officers responded to a report of a fight at 1:05 a.m. on Sunday outside of El Maguey Bar at 324 N Main St. According to witnesses, the fight began on the dance floor inside the bar and escalated outside.
The fight allegedly started when a group of males ran into a group of five other individuals on the dance floor. Outside, one of the group of males allegedly threatened to shoot someone in the other group.
A witness said that at least three shots were fired before the police arrived.
Officers were then directed toward a SUV with Wisconsin plates parked in the Spam Museum parking lot, according to Krueger.
They spoke to five individuals in or near the SUV and detected a strong odor of marijuana. Police brought out the K9 to sniff the vehicle and the dog allegedly indicated several spots. Officers allegedly found marijuana in the vehicle as well as a “.38 special” revolver with four spent rounds and one live round in the cylinder.
Carlie Ann Ubaldo, 18, of Austin, McKayla Florence Hernandez, 18, of Albert Lea, Erick Lozano-Godina, 19, of Albert Lea, Austin Michael Navarro, 19, of Albert Lea, and Felipe Julian Carrizales, 23, of Albert Lea were arrested and taken to Mower County Jail. They are facing possible charges of gross misdemeanor possession of a pistol and pistol ammunition, gross misdemeanor possession of a pistol in a public place without a permit, misdemeanor possession of an open bottle and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance. Hernandez and Navarro are also facing possible charges of underage drinking.
The case is still under investigation. The report has been forwarded to the county attorney’s office.
