Vehicle stolen during burglary

Police are looking for an individual or individuals responsible for a burglary that included a vehicle being stolen, that occurred either late Tuesday night of early Wednesday morning.

According to Austin Police Chief Brian Krueger, officers responded to a call at 2:46 a.m. on Wednesday in the 400 block of Third Street Southeast. They spoke to the victims, who said their daughter woke them up when she came into their bedroom. When they went to put her back to bed, they saw that a purse elsewhere in the home had been gone through. A debit card, credit card, ID and an undisclosed amount of cash had been stolen.

Two sets of keys that had been hanging on a hook near a door had also been taken, as had their silver 2008 Dodge Caravan with Minnesota license plate 857 PDP.

The victims said the burglary had occurred between 9 p.m. on Tuesday and 2 a.m. on Wednesday. They said everything was locked and neither heard anyone break in.

Police found footprints in the snow outside; however, they were in poor condition due to the blowing snow. There was no sign of forced entry.

There are no suspects at this time.
