Sheila Marie (Clayton) Dion, 61, of Albert Lea, Minnesota, and formerly of Austin, Minnesota, died Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea.

Sheila was born Jan. 13, 1957, in Ada, Minnesota, to Fred and Allet Clayton. She grew up in Austin and graduated from Austin High School. On Jan. 2, 1982, she was united in marriage to Jerry Dion at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin.

Sheila enjoyed crocheting, beading and card making along with many other crafts and hobbies. She loved spending time with her kids and she had a dog and two cats that she loved to pieces.

Survivors include her daughter, Sara Dion (fiancé Dennis Blickenderfer); son, Patrick Dion; sister, Linda (Jerry) Novak; step daughters, Debra (Tom) Groll, Sharon (Jack) Nehring; stepson, Jeff Dion; grandson, Garrett Dion; numerous step grandchildren and great-grandchildren; niece, Cheri (Paul) Jenkins, who was also one of her best friends; and many other nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Dion; parents, Fred and Allet Clayton; brothers, Kenneth and Daniel Clayton; and stepson, Steve Dion.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 8, 2018, at Mayer Funeral Home with Pastor Matt Griggs officiating. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at Mayer Funeral Home on Sunday. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Condolences may be left online at www.mayerfh.com.
