Bonna Lou Geffert, 85

Bonna Lou  (Bonnie) Geffert, 85, of St. Ansgar, Iowa, died on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at Hospice of North Iowa in Mason City, Iowa.

Bonnie was born on March 25, 1933, in Austin, Minnesota, to Glenn and Bernice (Downs) Yocom. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin. She graduated from Austin High School in 1952. Bonnie married Arleigh Paul Geffert on June 12, 1954. They farmed a mile east of Toeterville, Iowa, until 1989, when they moved to Rogers, Arkansas. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church until 1989 and then a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Rogers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arleigh; parents; grandson, Nathan Geffert; son-in-law, John Bierbrodt; brothers, Robert (Red) Yocom and Charles (Chuck) Yocom; and sister, Barbara Olson.

Bonnie is survived by four children; Shelley (Jeff Buseman) Allison of Rockford, Iowa, Vicki (Gary) Miller of Rogers, Terry Geffert of St. Ansgar and Brian Geffert of St. Vincent, Minnesota; foster daughter, Peggy (Barry) Martin of Titusville, Florida; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 23, 2018 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Toeterville with the Rev. Lance Kittleson officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter Cemetery in Toeterville. Visitation is scheduled from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home in St. Ansgar and one hour prior to service at the church.
