Home of the Vikings

We were anxious to get on the road again and our first trip was to Minneapolis to US Bank Stadium as well as a flight across America at the Mall of America.
There was much to talk about in the news since the stadium’s opening in 2016 at the site of the former Mall of America Field in downtown Minneapolis.
With a price tag of $1.129 billion this architectural masterpiece will seat over 66,000 fans
We approached the stadium designed in the likeness of a viking ship. A guide took us through many areas that are not available during games. A typical Vikings pre-game frenzy begins with the sound of the Gjallarhorn and the “Skol” chant made famous. and adopted by hometown fans.
There are many of photos on the gallery walls including former head coach Bud Grant and others that have made football history.
The suites and seating areas are quite plush, with great viewing. Locker rooms were neatly designed as were the press boxes and it was fun to walk on the field.
Game day includes many food and dinning choices making for a great day at the game.
Our next stop was “Fly Over America” at the Mall of America that recently opened giving us a bird’s eye view of America’s most awe-inspiring sights. strapped in seats with feet dangling above the ground, with special effects like wind, mist, and scents to make us feel like you’re are truly flying.
