Abraham Rodriguez, 29, of Austin pleaded guilty to felony violent felon in possession of firearm ammunition as part of a plea agreement on Friday in Mower County District Court. He initially pleaded not guilty to the charge on Nov. 2.

Charges of felony fifth-degree drug possession and felony storing methamphetamine paraphernalia in the presence of a child will be dropped at the sentencing.

On Oct. 19, law enforcement agents executed a search warrant on his residence in the 3800 block of Third Place Southwest. Three adults and five children were inside at the time, but Rodriguez was not home. Law enforcement found eight rounds of firearm ammunition among other illegal items. Because Rodriguez is a convicted felon, he is not allowed to be in possession of firearms or firearm ammunition.
