Get your thinking caps on: Do you want to run for office?

Now is the time to think about it. Candidates wanting to file for Austin city or Mower County offices in the Nov. 6 election may do so beginning May 22.

The filing period ends on June 5.

Positions held by city councilman Dave Hagen, and coucilwomen Janet Anderson and Judy Enright will all be up for election.

Also on the ballot are positions held by county commissioners Jerry Reinartz (District 3), Tony Bennett (District 4) and Mike Ankeny (District 5)

Other county offices up for election include County Attorney Kristen Nelsen, County Judge Christa Daily, County Recorder/ Registrar of Titles Jill Cordes; Sheriff Teresa Amazi; and Auditor-Treasurer Steven Reinartz.
