Packer baseball team sweeps Northfield

The Austin baseball team picked up a sweep over Northfield when it won by scores of 3-2 and 7-6 on the road Saturday.

Sophomore Tony Ciola picked up the win in his varsity debut in the nightcap as he struck out 10 in five scoreless innings and junior Michael O’Connor struck out nine, while allowing just one earned run in six and one-thirds innings to win the opener.

Riley Wempner was four-for-eight with a triple, a homer and six RBIs for the Packers (6-2 overall, 6-2 Big Nine).
