Police are looking for two males who were involved in an armed robbery Friday night at the Freedom Valu Center on Fourth Street Northwest.
According to Austin Police Chief Brian Krueger, a Freedom Valu Center employee called police at about 11 p.m. on Friday to report the robbery. She said that two black males dressed in black pants and black hoodies, with the hoods drawn tightly around their faces, entered the store. One approached the register, showed her a black handgun, and demanded money from the safe. The second male took the money from the safe and the cash register. They then left the store and ran north.
The clerk described the men as six feet tall, of average build and likely in their early 20s or 30s.
Police attempted to locate the individuals with a canine, but lost the scent a block from the store.
Police currently have no suspects and are looking to review any nearby security cameras. Anyone with information is asked to call law enforcement at 507-437-9400. Reports can be made anonymously.
