Two men were arrested on Thursday after an argument escalated into a fight.
According to Austin Police Chief Brian Krueger, police responded to a fight call at 8:20 p.m. on Thursday in the 1100 block of Fourth Avenue Northwest. One of the males at the residence, Riley James Wadding, 37, of Austin, allegedly got into a verbal confrontation with a woman and made her feel threatened. Another male at the residence, Bryan James Cook Hollenbach, 24, of Austin, allegedly told Wadding to stop and the two of them stepped outside and fought.
During the fight, Hollenbach allegedly struck Wadding on the elbow with a baseball bat, according to Krueger.
Wadding was taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin and received stitches before being transported to Mower County Jail, where he awaits a possible charge of fifth-degree assault-fear. Hollenbach was also arrested and is awaiting a possible charge of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon.
A review of Wadding’s criminal history shows prior convictions for disorderly conduct and obstructing the legal process. A review of Hollenbach’s criminal history shows prior convictions for theft, burglary, drug possession and intentional damage to property.
