Dorothy Jane Heimer, 100

Dorothy Jane Heimer, 100 years and 13 days young, of Sargeant, Minnesota, went to join her heavenly family on Feb. 19, 2018, at Mayo Clinic Health System-Austin.
Dorothy was born Feb. 6, 1918, in Swann, Iowa, to Lloyd and Leila (Walker) Wall. She was the youngest of four girls.
In her early years, the family lived in Iowa, North Dakota, and settled in Austin, Minnesota. She attended school in Austin and later moved to St. Paul to attend beauty college. After graduation, she returned to Austin and, on April 12, 1939, was united in marriage to Joseph Heimer at St. Augustine Catholic Church. To this union, 11 children were born. Joe died in 1991 and Dorothy then moved to Sargeant, where she lived until her passing.
Dorothy enjoyed puzzles of all kinds, playing cards, sewing, knitting and crocheting. She had a very quick wit and extreme sense of humor. Dorothy enjoyed life and will be greatly missed by all.
Survivors include nine daughters, Nancy (Ronald) Monahan, Rochester, Minnesota, Carol Cimmiyotti, Sargeant, Sandy Medina, Mazeppa, Minnesota, Sue Monkemeier, Long Beach, California, Janet Wolfenbarger, Chino Valley, Arizona, Cheryl Stover, Long Beach, Kathy (Oscar) Mendiola, San Pedro, California, Kim Myers, Sargeant, and Terri (Stacey) Dobson, Indio, Clifornia; 24 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe; two sons, Donald and Gary; her parents; her sisters; two great granddaughters, Carly Monahan and Haley LaVelle; and three sons-in-law, Stan, Bill and Roger.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2018, at Mayer Funeral Home with Father Tom Niehaus officiating. Friends may call one hour before the service on Saturday at Mayer Funeral Home. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Condolences may be left online at www.mayerfh.com.
