A golf cart valued at $5,000 was taken from a rural LeRoy home sometime between 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 27 and 11 a.m. on Monday, May 28.

According to the Chief Deputy Mark May of the Mower County Sheriff’s Department, the owner of the property located at 10482 E. State, Highway 56, reported that his teal-colored 1996 Easy-Go cart, easily seen from the highway and sitting in the yard, was taken.

The cart, whose VIN is 961280, was outfitted with a lift kit for larger tires, white seats with a hard canopy, and a black cargo box on the back. It was not known if the cart’s keys were with the vehicle.
