A 45-year-old Austin woman was injured in a two-vehicle crash Thursday, when another vehicle collided with hers at the intersection of Highways 218 and 251, north of Austin.

Maria Cruz Hernandez was transported with non-life threatening injuries, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

According to the report, Hernandez was traveling northbound on Highway 218 at 6:42 a.m., when the minivan she was driving was struck broadside by a 2015 Chevy Camaro, driven by Kevin Jon Beske, 52, of Austin. He was driving eastbound on Highway 251 and failed to stop at a stop sign, according to the patrol.

The Mower County Sheriff’s Office, Austin Fire Department and Gold Cross Ambulance all assisted at the scene.
