Louis Melvin Dudycha, 78, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2018, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, Iowa.
Louie was born July 10, 1939, in Austin, Minnesota, to Louis and Vivian (Hanson) Dudycha. He married Kay Garvey on May 7, 1960.
Louie retired from Excel Pork Solutions in 2003. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, the Iowa Hawkeyes, and attending his grandkids’ sporting events.
Louie is survived by his children, Annette (Joe) Grochala of Altoona, Iowa, Scott Dudycha of Humboldt, Iowa, Kim Bates of Des Moines, Iowa, and Deb (Steve) Farnsworth of Kirksville, Missouri; six grandchildren, Cody Buffington, Nicole Dudycha, Kyle Bates, Jordan Bates, Keaton Farnsworth and Nathan Farnsworth; and his siblings, Judy Ann Dudycha of Austin, Jerry (Nancy) Dudycha of Austin, Jack Dudycha of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Nancy Calderon of Rosemount, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and brother, James Dudycha.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2018, at Sts. John and Paul Catholic Church in Altoona. Private inurnment will be at Rising Sun Cemetery in Pleasant Hill, Iowa.
