Jakob Alan Mogren, 21

According to the court complaint, a Mower County deputy was dispatched at 9:24 p.m. on Monday to a residence in the 200 block of West Read Street in LeRoy. A woman at the residence told the deputy that Mogren had threatened to kill the alleged victim and had seen him push her to the ground. The alleged victim had two lacerations on her right leg just below the knee. She allegedly told the deputy Mogren left the residence in his car and had not been taking his medication as prescribed.

The victim said Mogren went into a “fit of rage” after she refused to give him money, the complaint said. The deputy observed a damaged water cooler, a hole in the ceiling from where Mogren allegedly punched it, and clothes thrown about the house. The alleged victim said she locked herself in her room, but Mogren forced his way in, causing her to fall and scrape her leg. She then said she gave him money “to get him to leave” because she feared he would strike her.

Deputies met with Mogren, who confirmed he wanted money and had argued with the alleged victim, the complaint said. He allegedly said the he “started breaking stuff” and had kicked the water cooler.

A review of Mogren’s criminal history shows prior convictions for assault and violating a domestic assault no contact order.

Mogren will appear in court again on July 16.
