Lorraine Catherine Lampert Plunkett was born on Nov. 21, 1919, in Iowa Falls, Iowa, to Jacob and Nina (Cowan) Lampert. Lorraine was their only child. Her mother died when she was four years old. Jacob and Lorraine then moved to the Twin Cities, where her father established Lampert Lumber Company in 1927 and remarried.

They moved to Austin, Minnesota, where Hugh practiced law with his father and brothers at Plunkett Law firm. Lorraine was a stay at home mom who took pride in having three children.
She was a member of Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Austin. She was fun loving and always willing to help. She will be missed.
