Austin Post 91 was able to curb a game threatening to get away from them, but in the end couldn’t make up the necessary ground, losing 7-5 against Mankato National Saturday.

Mankato jumped to an early 2-0 lead after the first inning, adding another run for a 3-0 lead in the third.

Mankato padded their lead when it scored in the final frame and despite Post 91 matching it in the bottom of the seventh, couldn’t cross the gap.

Taylor Arett took the loss on the hill, going four innings and giving up three runs, one earned, off three hits and three walks.

At the plate Josi Both was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs and Phillip Zynda was also 3-for-4 with a triple and an RBI.
