Arthur H. Froehlich, 92

Arthur H. Froehlich, 92, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away Monday, July 23, 2018, at Koda Living Community in Owatonna, Minnesota.

He was born Oct. 30, 1925, in Hewitt, Minnesota, the son of Arthur and Esther (Tesch) Froehlich. Arthur was raised and attended school in Hewitt. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On Oct. 9, 1948, Arthur and Donna Louise Lambert were united in marriage in Bertha, Minnesota. The couple raised one son. Upon moving to Austin in the early 1950s, Arthur made his living at the Austin Medical Center in laundry, shipping, and as a janitor. He was a longtime member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Arthur’s hobbies included crocheting, knitting and tending to his flower garden. He loved watching old western movies and eating popcorn. Arthur’s dogs were very important to him. His family and friends will miss him dearly.

Survivors include his son, Gary (Diane) Froehlich of Owatonna; two grandsons, Dakota (Tabby) and Josh Froehlich; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Esther; his wife, Donna, on April 9, 2018; and his grandson Justin Froehlich.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, July 30, 2018, at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin with Pastor Larry LaDassor officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post 91 and VFW Post 1216.
