A 2006 Ford Focus reported stolen on Monday was later recovered in another section of town.

According to Austin Police Chief Brian Krueger, the victim parked the Ford Focus at Midwest Diesel in Austin on July 18. While traveling, the victim was advised that the vehicle was missing.

The vehicle was recovered on Monday at Medgaarden’s Southwest Sales on 12th Street Southwest. Surveillance video showed Cody Bale, 18, of Austin leaving the vehicle, Krueger said.

Bale was arrested on Monday in Freeborn County during a burglary investigation. According to Mower County Senior Sgt. Investigator Steve Sandvik, an ATV and UTV reported stolen on Sunday from the 1600 block of 31st Street Southwest were found in Bale’s possession.

Krueger said Bale could be charged with possession of stolen property.
