Suspect sought in Lyle burglary; Ransacked mechanical and cold storage business

The Lyle Police Department and Mower County Sheriff’s Office are looking for information concerning a late Saturday night/early Sunday morning burglary in Lyle.

According to Mower County Senior Sgt. Investigator Steve Sandvik, a call came in about 10 a.m. on Sunday about a burglary in the 200 block of Fourth Street at a mechanical and cold storage business in Lyle. An employee reported a window had been smashed and offices had been ransacked. Desk drawers had also been opened and gone through. The employee also reported furniture in a second floor break room had been overturned.

A commemorative Buck folding knife had was reported stolen, Sandvik said. It is unknown if anything else was stolen.

Sandvik said some evidence was collected at the site; however, there are no suspects at this time.
