The Hayfield volleyball team opened its season with a loss to Fillmore Central by scores of 22-25, 25-22, 25-22, 25-19 in Hayfield Thursday.

Jenna Jacobsen had 10 kills and 20 digs for the Vikings (0-1 overall).

“We struggled against ourselves tonight,” Hayfield head coach Jeremy Struck said. “First game nerves, our youth, and our inexperience all played a part of tonight’s loss. We will have to slow everything down and just execute fundamentally. All seasons have a starting point and all we can do is build on it from there.”
