Adams barn destroyed in fire

First responders are calling a barn that caught fire on Thursday near Adams a “total loss.”
Deputies were called at 12:47 p.m. to a barn fire at the Gaskill property at 62500 120th St. southwest of Adams. The barn was fully engulfed in flames, according to Mower County Chief Deputy Mark May.
Three tractors, a skid loader and three steers were inside the barn. All were lost in the fire, May said.
The cause of the fire is unknown, and the state fire marshal’s office was contacted for further investigation. Damage estimates were not indicated on the report.
Fire departments from Adams, Rose Creek, Lyle and Stacyville, Iowa all responded to the scene.
