Three people were taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin with non-life threatening injuries after a Monday evening three-car crash in Lyle Township.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol accident report, emergency personnel responded to a call at about 6:56 p.m. of an accident at the intersection of Highway 218 and County Road 22. A 2002 Buick Rendezvous and a 2007 Jeep Wrangler were traveling southbound on 218 while a 2005 GMC Yukon XL 1500 was driving northbound on 218. The Buick stopped and was rear ended by the Jeep, causing it to go into the northbound lane and collide with the GMC.
The Minnesota State Patrol, Mower County Sheriff’s Office, Lyle Police Department and Gold Cross Ambulance Service responded to the scene.
The driver of the GMC, Raymond Allen Proctor, 40, of Nevada, Missouri, the driver of the Jeep, Nathan Jay Williamson, 28, of Lyle, and a passenger in the Buick, Payton Justin Christianson, 9, of Austin, were taken to Mayo Clinic Health System for non-life threatening injuries, the report states.
All involved were wearing seatbelts. It was determined that alcohol did not play a factor in the accident.
