Michael Eugene Iverson, 62, of Austin, Minnesota, died peacefully at his home on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2018.

Michael was born May 4, 1956, in Austin to Leland and Marie (Vieltorf) Iverson. He graduated from Austin High School and worked at Hormel and a number of other places throughout his life. In January 1997, he married his love, Pauline, in Austin. She was his heartbeat, along with her dog, Winter.

Michael had great joy in spending time in nature and the outdoors. He was admired by many and loved by all that knew him. He was known as a gentle giant, big in stature, but softer and bigger in the heart. He was an amazing friend and family member whom everyone adored.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline; mother, Marie Iverson; father and stepmother, Leland and Annette Iverson; and brother, Leonard “Butch” Iverson.

Mike is survived by his father-in-law, Don Wirtjes, Albert Lea, Minnesota; stepson, William (Nicole) Weiser, Albertville, Minnesota; two grandsons, Jadyn and Mason; great aunt, Margaret Campbell; and several cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Nov. 14, 2018, at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary with Father James Steffes officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
