The LeRoy-Ostrander girls basketball team opened its season with a loss to Mabel-Canton (1-0 overall, 1-0 SEC) by a score of 49-46 in LeRoy Monday.

Neither team led by more than six points and the Cardinals (0-1 overall, 0-1 SEC) trailed 22-20 at the halftime.

Haley Hungerholt had 22 points for LO and Kate Helgeson had three points and 11 rebounds.
