Steven J. Spain, 73, passed away in his sleep on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018, at his residence in Albert Lea, Minnesota.

Steve was born on May 8, 1945, to William and Adeline (Rhunke) Spain. He grew up in Hollandale, Minnesota. Steve spent most of his adult years working at Cedar Valley Workshops of Austin, Minnesota, and Albert Lea. He loved music and going on family fishing trips in the summer. He rarely missed daily coffee with his friends!

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, William and Adeline Spain; brother, Dale Spain; sister in-law, Marilyn Spain; and brother in-law, Michael “Chip” Strange. Steve is survived by his sister, Becky Strange; brothers, Dennis Spain and Ronald (Sylvia) Spain; uncle, Theodore “Ted” Spain; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2018, at Bonnerup Funeral Service in Albert Lea with the Rev. Kent Otterman officiating.  Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will happen at a later date at the Hollandale Cemetery.
