At The Door tickets are $9 for adults and $7 for children (Ages 4-10).

Children ages 3 and under are free.

Every donation, large or small, will help cut expenses and increase profits: We need boneless chicken, hamburger, carrots, celery and financial donations to purchase other items. Call The Arc at 507-433-8994 today and let us know how you can help.

All funds raised will be used for members to attend workshops and conferences, to donate money to local organizations and do community service projects.

In 2019, People First Aktion Club will be making a donation to the Paint The Town Pink fundraiser for The Hormel Institute.

Connect with your legislators

With the 2018 midterm elections behind us, now is a critical time to start building relationships with new members of the legislature or to reconnect with returning legislators.

We encourage everyone to take this opportunity to educate elected officials about issues impacting you, such as MA TEFRA parental fees, the PCA workforce shortage, the 7 percent cut to Home and Community Based Services and much more.

Here are a few quick ways to connect with members of the Minnesota House of Senate before session starts:

Send an email: Sending a quick email to your new legislator is a great way to introduce yourself, let them know you live in their district, and highlight things that are important to you and your family. Congratulate them on winning the election, and offer to be a resource if they have questions or need information about issues affecting Minnesotans with disabilities.

Connect on social media: Most members (and their staff!) are very active on social media, and often respond quickly to people reaching out who live in their district.

Download the Telling Your Story app: The Telling Your Story app  from the Minnesota Governor’s Council on Developmental Disabilities can help you tell your personal story and share it directly with your legislators.

Sign up for their email list: Many members share updates with people in their district through weekly emails. These emails often include information about in-district events or updates about their work at the Capitol, and are a great way to stay connected.

Session doesn’t start until Tuesday, Jan. 8, but it’s never too early to start sharing your story. You are the expert on issues impacting members of the disability community, and your knowledge and experience is crucial in educating legislators. Thanks in advance for your advocacy and building these important relationships.
