Kenneth Loren Peterson, 81

Kenneth Loren Peterson, 81, of Brownsdale, Minnesota, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 20, 2018, at St. Mark’s Living.

Kenny was born June 8, 1937, on a farm in Dodge County, near Hayfield, Minnesota, to Bernard and Janice (Root) Peterson. In 1956, he graduated from Hayfield High School and proudly served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany, from 1956-58. Kenny married Bonnie Van Vleet on June 7, 1959.

After serving in the Army, he spent his summers driving trucks and hauling iron ore. Kenny began farming in 1960, a vocation he enjoyed for 35 years. He loved going up north to his cabin, where he enjoyed fishing, with family and friends. He liked deer hunting, playing cribbage, and just going for drives around the farms to look at the crops. Kenny’s happy smile and sense of humor will be missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Barrie and Larrie Peterson; and brother-in-law, Allan Eastlee.

Kenny is survived by his wife, Bonnie Peterson, Brownsdale; sons, Lynn (Michelle) Peterson, Rochester, Minnesota, Todd (Jill) Peterson, Austin, Minnesota, and Troy Peterson, Austin; grandchildren, Adam Peterson (Katie Meier), Rochester, Allix (Brad) Fasbender, Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, Drew Peterson, Dubuque, Iowa, and Seth Peterson, Austin; brother, Cris (Eula) Peterson, Rochester; sister, Aloma Eastlee, Hayfield; sisters-in-law, Helen Peterson and Audrey Peterson; nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2018, at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary, with military rites immediately following by Austin American Legion Post 91, with a reception to follow. Private interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery at a later date.
