Dana J. Bright, 55

Dana J. Bright, 55, of Austin, Minnesota, died on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2019, at his home.

Dana was born Jan. 2, 1964, in Columbus, Ohio. He was raised by his mother, Janis (Wilson), and Robert Haugland. He graduated from high school in 1982. Dana married Kari Burgdorf on Sept. 28, 2001, in Waseca, Minnesota. He worked at All American Foods in Waseca for over 20 years until his illness.

Dana liked to go fishing and camping and enjoyed listening to hard rock music while throwing back some beers with family and friends. He loved those Vikings.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Janis Haugland; and his son, Alex Jay Bright.

Dana is survived by his wife, Kari Bright, Austin; sons, Dillon, Austin and Jacob Bright, all of Austin; step-son, Brandon Burgdorf, Owatonna, Minnesota; Cody Burgdorf, Austin, who was like a step-son to Dana; and father, Robert Haugland, Phoenix, Arizona.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019, at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Shari Mason officiating. Visitation will be for one hour before the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials are preferred to the family.
